Location
Although this region is small, it has a huge population - 50% of Canada's population is here! Say what! The lowlands are low, flat lands with gently rolling hills in southern Quebec and southern Ontario. This region follows the path of the St. Lawrence river all the way to the end of Lake Erie. 2 of Canada's largest cities are in this region - Toronto and Montreal. There are many cities, towns and villages in this region that have developed along the river and beside Lake Ontario, Lake Huron, and Lake Erie (remember, Lake Superior is part of the Canadian Shield region, not this region). |
